FAQ

Questions, answered.

How WebCompose works today, what it costs, and what’s coming.

Getting started

Do I need an account to try WebCompose?

No. Open the app, pick a template and start editing straight away. You only create an account when you want to save your website.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You click to select anything on the page, double-click to edit text, and change styles in the inspector. Sizes, spacing and colours are all visual controls.

What can I build?

Multi-page websites for almost any kind of business, from clinics, law firms and gyms to restaurants, online stores, agencies and startups. Start from one of 47 templates or from a blank website, then add any of 571 section layouts.

Can I start from scratch?

Yes. Create a blank website and build it from the section library, or start from a template and change everything about it.

AI Assistant

What does the AI Assistant do?

You describe a business in a sentence or two, and it builds a complete multi-page website in about a minute: pages, colours, fonts, sections and the text itself. You then open it in the editor and change anything, like any other website.

Does the AI use my own content and photos?

Yes. Attach a brief, menu, price list or brand document (PDF, Word, text, Markdown or CSV) and your images. The assistant uses the real names, prices, addresses and hours from your documents, and places your photos and logo. It can’t see images, so it places them by file name; anything it doesn’t use is waiting in your uploads.

Can the AI create something different from your templates?

Yes. By default it picks from our 571 ready-made sections, which gives polished, consistent results. Turn that switch off and it designs every section from scratch instead: more unique, a little less polished. Either way you can edit everything afterwards.

Is it free, and how many can I generate?

Free during the beta, up to 5 websites per account every 24 hours. After each one the assistant shows how many tokens it used and an estimated cost, and your account keeps a history of what you generated.

What happens to my documents and prompts?

Your description and the text of any attached documents are sent to our AI provider (DeepSeek) to write your website. Documents are read in memory and are not stored by WebCompose. Your description is kept in your generation history, and attached images are saved to that website’s uploads. Don’t attach anything confidential.

Can I trust what the AI writes?

Treat it as a strong first draft. It is told not to invent prices, addresses, awards or client names, and testimonials and statistics are placeholders. Check every detail before you share the website.

Editing

How does the editor work?

It works like a design tool: click to select, double-click to edit text, shift-click to select several items, and drag sections to reorder them. A layers panel shows the structure of the page, and you can zoom and pan the canvas. Undo and redo cover every change.

Will my website look right on phones?

Yes. Templates and sections are responsive, and you can set styles separately for desktop, tablet and mobile. Preview the website on each device before you share it.

Can I reuse a section on several pages?

Yes. The header and footer are shared across pages, and you can make any section shared so that editing it once updates every page that uses it. You can also save your own reusable blocks.

Can I use my own images?

Yes. Upload PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF images. Large photos are resized automatically before they are uploaded.

What are page checks?

Built-in checks that look for common accessibility and SEO problems: low colour contrast (WCAG AA), a missing or repeated H1, skipped heading levels, images without alt text, a header or footer out of place, and a missing page title or description. Many come with a one-click fix.

Saving and your data

Is my work saved automatically?

Yes, once you are signed in. Changes are saved as you work, and if the same website is changed in another tab, WebCompose warns you instead of silently overwriting it.

What happens if I delete a website by mistake?

Deleted websites go to Recently deleted, where you can restore them.

Who can see my websites?

Only you. Each account’s data is isolated in the database with row-level security, so one account cannot read another account’s websites.

Are there any limits?

During the beta you can have up to 100 websites, each with up to 100 pages.

Plans and what’s next

How much does it cost?

WebCompose is free while it is in beta, and no card is needed. That includes the AI Assistant, with up to 5 generated websites a day. A paid plan with publishing and custom domains will come later; we will announce its price before anything changes.

Can I publish my website yet?

Not yet. Publishing to a free webcompose.app address and connecting custom domains are coming soon. Today you can design, build and preview complete multi-page websites on any device.

What is coming next?

Publishing with a free webcompose.app address, custom domains with SSL, form submissions, team workspaces and Google sign-in.
